We took a trip to Dallas this weekend to visit Tay's former tennis coach, Greg. Greg generously let us take over his room in their lovely house in a sprawling and peaceful neighborhood in Saginaw. It felt oh-so-good to stay in a home with an actual lawn! Only fellow condo-city dwellers can relate to this green grass deprivation we suffer from. Here are some photos of the digs.
Our first stop on Saturday was the Book Depository, which houses a museum dedicated to the assassination of JFK. It was somewhat unsettling to be in the same building where Oswald could have shot the president and the sadness of the tragedy is still palpable there.
They say the shooter was on the sixth floor.
One popular theory is another shooter was over here, which now has 911 graffiti on it.
Moving on to happier thoughts ... we moved on to the Stockyard to see some cowboys and longhorns!
This place would have been a great photoshoot location!
Isn't she just adorable?
Want some hot sauce??
But really ... I was so impressed by all the flora in Texas. We discovered a lot of cool looking plants on our morning walk around the neighborhood. Check them out below.
This one was taken inside Gaylord, a gigantic hotel/convention center.
Also, we made new friends while we were in Texas. Meet Sophie and Hannah.
Here are some pics of all of us. I think Greg's mom, Betty, doesn't like getting her photos taken. She never looked at the camera! Now I know who Hannah takes after. :)
Thanks again Greg and Betty! We had a great time!
(Also a big Gracias to Grace and Paris who took time to have drinks with us. Too bad we don't have a photo together! Next time ... )
